“Discovering the Riches of Art and History at the Rijksmuseum.”

The Rijksmuseum-in Amsterdam, Netherlands

Introduction of Rijksmuseum- A Historical Gem:

The Rijksmuseum is located in Amsterdam and is known as the national museum of the Netherlands. This museum represents Dutch arts and civilization for the past 800 years. This museum has established itself as a testimony to the eloquent and creative mastery of Netherlands and the Dutch people. There are around 2 to 3 million tourists and visitors every year. There are around 70 to 80 galleries where artworks are displayed.

Uniqueness of Rijksmuseum:

The Rijksmuseum is a residential home to Dutch showpieces for example- “The Merry Family by Jan Steen.” This painting was designed by the well-known Dutch artist Jan Steen. This remarkable painting tells us about the unity of family. In addition, the main moral of this painting is that children will learn behaviour and manners from their parents and elder persons.

Next, we can talk about “The Milkmaid by Vermeer.” This painting is one of the first-class attractions of Rijksmuseum. In this painting, we can see a milkmaid wearing blue apron and doing domestic chores. For example- pouring milk and doing other household works. From this painting, one can learn dedication to domestic virtue and household chores. The woman pouring milk very carefully teaches us that no work is to be neglected. We should always be dedicated to our daily household work no matter how big or small it is. In addition, if one wants to be successful in life, discipline comes first. The basic discipline is learnt from our home and household activities. In other words, this painting is straightforward yet a work of elegance because it teaches us the virtue of family activities.

Other Notable Paintings:

The Rijksmuseum is renowned for its sublime and illustrious collection of paintings. “The Serenade” by Judith Leyster is another must watch painting. This painting was designed by the female Dutch artist and painter Judith Jans Leyster. In this painting, we can guess that a young woman is playing with a flute and a young man is singing song in a melodious tone beside her. This painting holds a special place in the hearts of international tourists. From this painting we can learn two points. One is the necessity of love and romance , another is the necessity of music to pass relaxation time. Every man or woman has tensions in his or her life. However, at some point in life, a man needs to fall in love with the perfect woman. Because behind every successful man, the contributions of his life partner can not be denied. In addition, music is also a necessity in everybody’s life because it keeps our mind relaxed and soothes our soul.

Conclusion:

“The Rijksmuseum” is ranked among the top 10 museums in the world globally because of its sublime cluster of paintings. Unlike other museums, it might not have rich collection of statues and sculptures, but the collection of paintings present in the museum are diverse and too many to be explored. Every year, millions of tourists visit this museum with family and dear ones. The demonstration of paintings in this museum can attract the heart and minds of art lovers. Each and every painting in this museum teaches a moral life lesson. So I would personally request art and paint lovers to visit this museum.
